「所以是一種傳染病？」

除了上國家地理網站回答問題的規定以外，我還在網友polar的部落格上看到一個有趣的遊戲，叫做Free Rice，﹙http://freerice.com/index.php﹚，裡面有包括英數、名畫、語言、化學和地理的問題，每答對一題，網站就會捐十粒米給貧窮國家，螢幕上右手邊有個木頭碗，米粒跟著答對的題數增加，每滿一百粒就倒空碗裝盤，米粒越來越多，成就感也越來越高。

姊妹倆都很愛玩，妹妹常玩數學的乘法題，因為簡單；姊姊各種類型都試過。地理不難，有一項是凱經常和她們練習的首都，另一項是看地圖找國家，比較難，幾乎都是非洲小國。英文呢？其實滿難的，有字義和文法，凱居然也會錯文法！名畫題我比較喜歡，全是有名畫家的畫作，不過題庫不多，回答幾題以後，大半就開始重複，或是很容易因為畫風相近猜對。

在網友可頌的這篇文章裡，看到現在新新人類，很殘忍地對身高不到一八○的男生稱之為半殘，這跟我是沒關係啦，我反正是女生。不過，依此類推的話，我可能會被歸成女生的全殘！不過說真的，現實生活上，是會帶來不少不便，像是好看的衣服鞋子都太大啦之類的。

前面提過，美國五年前給小二的學生，上過稍微可以跟我們的修辭學沾上邊的文法課，後來取消了，那麼他們的英文不教文法嗎？當然不是，他們也教文法。不過這一停，就停了五年，直到七年級，才又開始文法教學。

七年級的大女兒，上的是英文資優班，男老師一開學就要學生每星期默寫十三條文法，包括什麼叫動詞、名詞、代名詞啦、什麼叫獨立子句？什麼叫附屬子句…等觀念。是的，你沒看錯，到七年級才開始教什麼叫動詞名詞，我記得女兒小學五年級時，曾經跟她解釋副詞的觀念，她一臉迷惑，一副完全沒聽過的樣子，可是那時她已經看過傲慢與偏見和小婦人這類古典小說！我在美國算是外來民族，沒任何立場跟老師反應該怎麼教英文，只能靜觀其變。
