除了上國家地理網站回答問題的規定以外,我還在網友polar的部落格上看到一個有趣的遊戲,叫做Free Rice,﹙http://freerice.com/index.php﹚,裡面有包括英數、名畫、語言、化學和地理的問題,每答對一題,網站就會捐十粒米給貧窮國家,螢幕上右手邊有個木頭碗,米粒跟著答對的題數增加,每滿一百粒就倒空碗裝盤,米粒越來越多,成就感也越來越高。

 

姊妹倆都很愛玩,妹妹常玩數學的乘法題,因為簡單;姊姊各種類型都試過。地理不難,有一項是凱經常和她們練習的首都,另一項是看地圖找國家,比較難,幾乎都是非洲小國。英文呢?其實滿難的,有字義和文法,凱居然也會錯文法!名畫題我比較喜歡,全是有名畫家的畫作,不過題庫不多,回答幾題以後,大半就開始重複,或是很容易因為畫風相近猜對。

網友可頌的這篇文章裡,看到現在新新人類很殘忍地對身高不到一八的男生稱之為半殘這跟我是沒關係啦我反正是女生不過依此類推的話我可能會被歸成女生的全殘不過說真的現實生活上是會帶來不少不便像是好看的衣服鞋子都太大啦之類的

前面提過美國五年前給小二的學生上過稍微可以跟我們的修辭學沾上邊的文法課後來取消了那麼他們的英文不教文法嗎當然不是他們也教文法不過這一停就停了五年直到七年級才又開始文法教學

 

七年級的大女兒上的是英文資優班男老師一開學就要學生每星期默寫十三條文法包括什麼叫動詞名詞代名詞啦什麼叫獨立子句什麼叫附屬子句等觀念。是的,你沒看錯,到七年級才開始教什麼叫動詞名詞,我記得女兒小學五年級時,曾經跟她解釋副詞的觀念,她一臉迷惑,一副完全沒聽過的樣子,可是那時她已經看過傲慢與偏見和小婦人這類古典小說!我在美國算是外來民族,沒任何立場跟老師反應該怎麼教英文,只能靜觀其變。
